NBTC Certification for Radar Equipment
Radar equipment operating in Thailand must obtain NBTC certification before it can be legally imported or sold. General-purpose radar applications — including weather radar, industrial level measurement sensors, and short-range detection systems — are certified via Supplier's Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) across all permitted frequency bands.
What This Page Covers
This page covers radar equipment under the NBTC Radar application. Automotive radar systems — such as those used in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and collision avoidance — fall under a separate NBTC application with different certification requirements. See the Vehicle Radar page for details.
Certification Requirements
All frequency bands under the Radar application are certified via SDoC. There is no power-based split — the certification type applies uniformly regardless of transmit power, provided the device operates within the permitted maximum.
| Application | Frequency Band | Max Transmit Power | Certification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Radar | 5,725–5,875 MHz | 10 mW eirp | SDoC |
| Radar | 10–10.6 GHz | 10 mW eirp | SDoC |
| Radar | 24.05–24.25 GHz | 10 mW eirp | SDoC |
| Radar | 76–81 GHz | 10 mW eirp | SDoC |
